Inner Tie Rod replacement
I have a 2005 Magnum R/T currently with 197K miles. At 160K miles, I had wheel vibration and it was identified as both inner and outer tie rods. The Dodge dealer service manager took me back and showed me the wheel play.
I was told the outer tie rods could be replaced but in order to replace the inner tie rods, you would need to replace the entire rack. After dropping a cool $1000, I was wondering if there was a way to replace the inner tie rods without replacing the rack?
After I replaced the well worn front tires, I put 4 new Falken tires on and the car runs perfect. With the long wheel base, this is the best highway cruising car I have driven.

I just had inner and outer rods replaced with 80k on the road. The dealer wanted to charge 1400, but I was able to get it done for under 500.00. I could hook you up with the shop I used or one near. Shoot me the area you live near, I will help if I can.

Of our SIX magnums we have had to have the front end rebuilt on TWO of them, both with over 100K miles. Cost on each was around $500.

I have been seeing more and more about Magnum"s front end issues and it's usually around 80k/100k or so. I guess it comes with the territory. After I got my front end work done the only complaint I have is that the road noise is more than I would like. Even my dad's old Chrysler Concord is quieter. Is is, what it is.
