Default Installing a factory navigation deck.

Thinking of purchasing a factory nav deck. Was wondering if anyone could tell me if my r/T did not come with GPS will it be plug and play? Thanks in advance.

It depends on where you get your replacement from.

I found a company that sells the RER, so I bought it. Not cheap, but given it comes with the lockpick, a mike for the car phone portion of install, and I added a backup camera.

30 day warranty or you can purchase a years extended warranty, which I did.

But, to have the backup camera, CD/DVD player, lock pick allows you to do certain things that the factory one won't. Watching a DVD from the front seat while you are moving or entering Nav station address when you are moving are a couple of things that I like about it. Lots of other things it does, but they may all be factory type things.

The MyGig portion, allowing you to store a ton of CD/DVDs on the unit itself is pretty impressive to me, but I amuse easily.

I added this to my car, which is an SXT (police interceptor), and it did not have any NAV capability. So the Nav portion of the RER nav system comes with a GPS antenna for the Navigation portion. Plug and play.

I'll report back after I have installed it. It LOOKS easy, but you never know. I'll post again in a couple of weeks.
