Sound system myth

Does anybody have any info on putting in a sound system. I have an '07 SXT Magnum. When I bought the car there was already an after market JVC CD detachable face installed. I went and installed two 12' Sony explosions in a box with a 3000 watt rockford fosgate amp. Someone told me that systems in magnums ** can lead to too many problems, such as alternator problems. I had a new alternator plus a new battery installed just in case. I was wondering if anyone can give me some insight to just how much of the ** stereo myth is true or not. I'd appreciate it deeply

It's a myth I have 4 10" kicker cvrs and 2 kicker zx 750.1 and another kicker zx 350.4 channel amp on all aftermarket kicker 6x9 Ks components and my rt runs perfect I had the dimming lights problem and just got a back up battery and that fixed that
