Just put Baer Decela Sport Rotors that are cross drilled and slotted. With EBC Red Stuff brake pads.
I need to issue a warning hear.
My Magnum is an SXT - BUT it's also a police package Magnum with the 5.7 Hemi.
What that meant was when ordering the rotors, I ordered what AutoAnything website said was the correct rotor for my car. UNFORTUNATELY, it was incorrect.
Nothing worse than getting a phone call from your mechanic telling me that the rotors I purchased for the rear were 1" too small.
A call to Baer confirmed that perhaps the SRT8 rotors would have been the correct set for the rears.
When I placed the order, I used 53023 part number for the front and they fit perfectly. I used 53024 part number for the rear and as I said they were too small.
So, with a call to Baer, they recommended 53030 for the rear rotors. I then talked to the AutoAnything tech support and they used the 53030 number to Baer. About twenty minutes later, Baer called AutoAnything up and told them that to get the correct rear rotors, they had to do two things.
First they changed my car's year (2007) to 2006 and then used the part number 53031, as that was the correct number for the rotor for my POLICE PACKAGE. And they arrived within a couple of days (overnight shipping paid for by AutoAnything) and they DID fit perfectly.
I used EBC Red Stuff pads. On the AutoAnything website, the Red Stuff pads had the 'police package' option, which is the one I chose. Those pads fit my car perfectly.
So after the 'hiccup' on ordering the wrong rotors got straightened out, my mechanic installed the correct rotors in about an hour. He had one more issue that he fixed (check engine light for oil sensor) and about twoish hours after I dropped off the rear rotors, I was back picking up my car.
EBC warns that the new pads will squeek or squeal for the first 500 miles depending on the condition of my rotors.
WITH NEW BAER ROTORS and new EBC PADS - NO NOISE AT ALL!
I will keep an eye out on the pads and the rotors, but dang man, this beast now stops like I want it to. And no more steering wheel wobble from a warped front rotor.
Spent about $650 for the full set of rotors and $150 for the full set of pads. Plus another $400 for my mechanic to install the brakes, change the oil (RP) and install the new oil sensor. So all in, call it $1200...
Worth every dollar. And I'm hoping not to have any issues with the brakes now for the next 40 k miles. We will see.
