Default iBrake for dummies! Brake Thread (Q&A)

Question I got for a dumb ass move I made. I used some tape on my rotors to paint the middle and after attempting to peel it off, I had to ....(ugh) carve it off with a knieve
soooo..... I was a little hesitant to sand em down too much (I used 2000 grit, hardly at all) I figured enough friction and hard braking should get right through it.

do you think I need to bed these pads (used, 40-50k mi)or just burn up the residue n scratches I made on the new(100miles) rotors???
