Default Front wheel bearing

Do the front wheel bearings take grease? I removed the dust cap and saw the nut and the bearing behind it, but there seems to be no grease. What am I missing? TIA. 2005 Mag, rear drive only.

Taking a second look there seems to be a slight amount of grease showing between the rollers. I think I'll use a syringe and shoot a little more in.

Jim: I had a 1/2" dia. syringe with a 1-1/4" fine tip, loaded it with grease and it worked fine. I just bought the 2005 Magnum and couldn't believe the little amount of grease in these bearing after eight years.

You know, I was discussing this with my mechanic. I was wondering if I should replace the wheel bearings, front and rear. My mileage is approaching 150k and I just thought it was good insurance. GUESS WHAT?

You can't replace JUST the wheel bearings. They now come as 'wheel bearing hub' kits. No more just replacing the wheel bearings.

http://www.autozone.com/suspension-s...l-mfi-hemi-ohv

that link is from Autozone near me for my 07 Magnum . They do NOT SHOW any other options for wheel bearing for my 2007.

So, that is why you don't see grease in the bearings. My mechanic says that they replace them once they start making noise.

I guess that's called progress...
