Default ESP/BAS light

I took my '08 mag to dealer in July with esp/bas light coming on intermitantly. The said code said steering angle sensor. They replaced. No help. Per Chrysler they replaced again. Now after resetting per manual, light only comes on when left turn signal self cancels. Next they changed the "module". Same problem PLUS now my cruise control is non functioning. I suspect they fogot to plug something back in. Dealers next try, per Chrysler, is to swap clockspring. Wow! I'm so over it. Does anyone have anything for me. If the clockspring doesn't work, what then? I really want to get this issue resolved for good so I can fall back in love with my Maggie. Thanks for any help or support, Joe

Sounds to me like you may have a wire or something shorting out someplace. I know on the Challengers, there is a wiring harness that runs behind the emergency brake and they have been known to rub through there. May want to see if your Maggie has a similar harness.

I'm sure that is very aggraviting but don't give up on her. ONE of our magnums turned out to be a Louisanna Flood Car and we NEVER gave up on it after replacing a mulitude of things and being down for a whole year. (ONE reason we started buying more magnums ~LOL~) Finally.... after finding the right mechanic that KNEW how to fix it... it NOW runs GREAT and we would NEVER think about getting rid of it. IN FACT tomorrow it goes in for some new two tone paint.

Good News! I picked up the Magster on 11-11-11 and its fixed. After a couple of "shake down' cruises, it checks OK. The clockspring had some glitch. It turned into a bitch of a glitch. Now we can start rebuilding our relationship. Maybe I'll buy her some jewelry, like some 3.5L High Output badges.

ON ONE of our cars, (Tee's BLACK R/T), the clockspring is also broke in it and it won't turn the turn signals off, so we just turn 'em off manually.

the clock spring is in the steering column. makes elec connection so steering wheel can turn without a wire bundle turning with it. wipers, turn signals, cruise, ect.
