Default Largest Tire on a stock RT Rim

Hello guys, Can someone tell me the biggest tire you can install on a stock RT rim? My 2006 has the 18 inch wheels and I will be getting new rubber soon and want to go with a little wider type tire but I do not want any fitment issues your help is greatly appreciated.

Stock I believe is 225/60R18 I think the largest you an get on those rims is 255/50R (10" tread) should fit on a 7" rim 305/45R18 thats 12" of tread probably need a 9" rim, I have AWD with 7.5 in rims - keeps your tire diameter correct for your speedometer.

225 is the stock width that comes with it, wouldn't go over 245 on a 7.5" wide rim (I ran Falken Ziex 950 245/50's on my 18's) otherwise sidewall bulge is horrific and you negate the extra tire width since it's curling up. Assuming you have RWD any year 20x8 will bolt right on and you can step up to a 255 without issue (what I have on mine)...

When changing from 18 in wheels to 20s don't you have to re calibrate the Speedo?

I'm running 255/55R18's on mine. Tire store said that it was the biggest I could fit if I remember correctly. It is a nice WIDE size. Last time I got new tires the shop said "THOSE ARE BIG!" My car is a 2005 R/T and I have been running that size with no problems since the first tire change at 20K miles.
