Default What is this pigtail!?

I have a 2005 Magnum SXT RWD.

I am interested in adding fog lights.

1. I believe the wiring is already present at the bumper - even thought my bumper came with delete plates where the lights go. If the wires are there, all I need is the correct push-button switch, correct?

2. On the pigtail that plugs into the headlamp switch, there is a SECOND pigtail taped to it. It has 1 purple/tan wire, and one black/tan wire.... what iz this for???

any knowledge or guesses will help!

Thank you in advance.

1. If the plugs line up with the female receptacle on the back of the proper switch, then yes, but that isn't the only thing needed. Fog lights have to be enabled in the CAN bus network.
2. Very good question

1. Darmet! So I'd need to program the module? Crazy! Just like the LED tail lights with the hyper-flash, I found out that there's no hazard relay or signal flasher relay - its all in the computer!

2. Yeah this is a 2005 Magnum SXT, my second Magnum. This Magnum had only 50k miles on it and I got from the owner of a Mopar dealership in Seattle who passed away. He custom ordered things here-and-there and I keep getting confused on issues I run into. I did not have this second plug in my first Magnum which was a 2006 SXT.

In the 05-07's, if you know someone with a Starscan or I believe AlfaOBD can do it as well (haven't tried it on anything that old yet). Goes through the FCM (Front Control Module). If they know what they're doing, they can enable them as export models so the fogs stay on with the high beams.
